Pantry Ham Loaf

2 pounds finely ground ham, butt end
1 pound finely ground fresh pork
2 cups bread crumbs
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup canned tomatoes

Mix ham and pork with bread crumbs; add milk and eggs, mixing well. Mold into loaf form and place in baking pan. Add salt and sugar to tomatoes and cook 10 minutes. Pour half of tomatoes over loaf. Save remainder to use for basting during baking. Bake uncovered in a moderate oven (350F) for 30-minutes. Cover and bake one hour longer. Serve with hot mustard sauce. Yield 8 portions.
