Shish-kebab (Thread your own)

Makes 4 Servings - Woman's Day Kitchen

2 pounds shoulder lamb chops, 1- 1/2 inches thick
8 small onions, peeled
2 medium green peppers, cut in eights
4 tomatoes, quartered
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon crumbled marjoram leaves
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Remove bones, and cut lamb into cubes. Put meat and vegetables in bowl. Mix remaining ingredients, and pour over contents of bowl. Store in refrigerator at least 1 hour or until ready to cook. Have ready some long metal skewers or firm, slender green sticks. Push lamb and vegetables onto skewers or sticks, alternating meat with vegetables. Hold skewers over hot coals, turning to brown all sides (take care not to burn sticks). Shish-kebab should be done in 10 to 15 minutes.
